Carbon Offset

Cleanery is proudly carbon positive - in FY23/24 we offset our minimal carbon footprint by 120% with the purchase of gold standard carbon credits from The Gold Standard Foundation in Switzerland.

How we measured - Cleanery determined its emissions profile in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard published by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, with supporting data from the New Zealand Ministry of the Environment guide "Measuring Emissions - A guide for Organisations - 2022 Summary of Emission Factors". The boundary of this calculation is from the raw materials ex works supplier to the delivery of the sachet to the distribution centre in the consumers country. Emissions have been calculated for Scopes 1, 2 and 3 as defined by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, and the calculations have been peer reviewed.

GIVING BACK

We give back to our community and support a number of initiatives including a number of charity partnerships.

GoGenerosity partnership

The GoGenerosity “Pay It Forward” widget on our New Zealand website allows customers to bolt on a donation of Cleanery products to their order. Cleanery also matches every donation from customers. Donations are then passed on to our GoGenerosity charity partner Fair Food to distribute to those in need.

Supporting schools & children

We believe in encouraging sustainability at grassroots level, and have partnered with a number of schools and kindergartens to supply Cleanery products for use in their facilities and to support fundraising endeavours.

Educational School Talks

Our team visits local schools to deliver fun and educational talks on making a difference, easy eco swaps, and how small changes all add up both at home and in business.

TEAM WELLBEING

We love our team and are extremely proud of them. They’re our greatest asset, and we prioritise their wellbeing and looking after them so that they look forward to coming to work every day.

Living Wage Employer

Cleanery is a registered Aotearoa Living Wage Employer and is committed to paying all its staff and contractors a minimum of the living wage.

Bloody Good Workplace

In February 2024 Cleanery was one of the first companies to join Hello Period’s Bloody Good Work Place Programme, supporting our staff with free reusable period products from Hello Period. This initiative is fantastic as it both supports our staff with effective, sustainable period products, and also helps to de-stigmatise the topic of periods in the workplace.

Community Service Programme

Cleanery operates a Community Service Programme where all staff can take paid time to volunteer for a charity or cause that is important to them.
